8coupons launches a “dealBot™” to scour, organize, and share all deals on the Internet
Former Powerset (Microsoft bing) employee develops new search product that finds, processes, and posts deal content to 8coupons.com in real-time.
June 9th, 2010, New York, New York – http://www.8coupons.com/, a location-based deal aggregator, announced today the beta launch of the dealBot™. The dealBot™ finds, processes, categorizes, and then automatically posts, in real-time, deal-relevant content from the web to http://www.8coupons.com. The deals are then displayed on 8coupons’ interactive geo-targeted “Money Map”.
The dealBot was created by John Lowe, former Chief Linguist of AskJeeves.com and natural language processing scientist at Powerset, a natural language search system acquired by Microsoft (and integrated into bing). The co-founder of Powerset, Lorenzo Thione, serves on 8coupons’ advisory board.
