Distinguished Concerts International New York presents Life and Remembrance in Honor of Memorial Day – The Music of Rutter, Thompson and Bizet. This special Memorial Day program features Frostiana, a mixed choral and piano piece, composed by Randall Thompson to commemorate the city of Amherst and the poet Robert Frost, who lived there. The program also includes John Rutter’s Requiem, an adaptation of the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass. The program concludes with Bizet’s Symphony in C Major, composed when Bizet was only 17 years old.
